Platinum VISA Changes
On June 22, 2013, UIECU will be making important changes to its VISA Credit Card program. We will be converting to a different credit card processor, which will result in multiple changes for cardholders. Your VISA account and credit card will be affected by these changes.
As a result of this change, the credit union expects to experience enhanced operational efficiencies, as well as a reduction in expenses related to processing and servicing our VISA credit card program. This will allow us to continue to provide highly competitive services, with fewer fees and lower fees and rates than comparative programs.
We are working to ensure this transition goes as smoothly as possible, but it is IMPORTANT that you are aware of the following changes that will affect you as a cardholder. Key changes are listed below, check the full Platinum VISA Changes FAQ for further details.
New Cards & PINs Issued
You will be issued a new VISA card with a new account number as a result of this change. New cards and PINS will be mailed between June 10 and June 17. Your new card can be activated and used on Sunday, June 23. As of June 23, your existing card will no longer work.
New Due Date
Please note that your payment due date will be changing. Your new due date will be the 27th of every month. Previously, your due date fell on the 26th of each month.
Automatic Payments To Others
Due to the fact that your Visa account number will change, please be sure when you receive your new card to notify any company which automatically debits your account on a periodic basis, such as: internet service providers, insurance companies, health clubs, utility providers, etc. They will need to update their records.
Past Statement Availability
Additionally, if you manage your statements online, please note that previous PDF statements will no longer be available as of June 23. To save them for your records, please print and/or save them now.
eStatements & Online Account Access
If you are currently enrolled in eStatements, you will need to re-enroll after this conversion. Please re-enroll via I-Branch Home Banking at uiecu.org once you have received your first paper statement from us in July. Online account access will be available exclusively via I-Branch Home Banking going forward, so you will need to log into your account via uiecu.org. If you are not currently enrolled in I-Branch Home Banking, visit uiecu.org/VISA2013 for further details.
Your Annual Percentage Rate (APR), credit limit and other account terms will remain the same.
For further information please contact our Service Center at 217-278-7700 or 877-678-4328. This change will help us maintain and enhance the credit card services we provide. Thank you for your patience and understanding through this transition.
